Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown, 75, of Barbourville, passed away Monday evening, March 9, 2020 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Opal Berry McConnell born on February 4, 1945 in Columbus, OH.
Barbara was a former receptionist with Datatrac and Pearson, former employee of Union College and a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ in London. She was a former President of the Daniel Boone Festival, former Avon representative and was a Kentucky Colonel. She dearly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debi Price.
Survivors include her loving husband, Arnold I. Brown of Barbourville; three children, Gregory Allen Brown and wife, Kathy, of Artemus, Michelle Rene’ Grubb and husband, Dwight, of Barbourville and Amanda Crawford and husband, Chad, of Artemus; a sister, Linda Hutton and husband, Frank, of Franklin Co., TN; a brother, Larry McConnell and Rene’ of Commercial Point, OH; four grandchildren, Hayle Collins and husband, Tyler, Anthony Cage Grubb, Katie Jo Crawford and Sydney Rene Grubb; a special niece, Mackenzie Diane Golden; special friends, Nancy Noel, Goldie Barton and Patty Goodlett; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, March 13 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Jerry Brown and Rev. Lonnie Collett officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Donnie Corbin, Gary Hamilton, Tyler Collins, Cage Grubb, Brian Brown, Vincent Brown and Aaron Brown. Honorary bearers will be Kyle McConnell, Buddy Noel, John Price and Theron Hutton.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Baptist Health Corbin and the Christian Health Center for the excellent care given to Barbara.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
