BROUGHTON, William “Press” – Courtesy Announcement

Mr. William “Press” Broughton of Pine Ridge, the husband of Brenda Roark Broughton departed this life Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 23 days. He was a son of the late Cecil and Georgia Helton Broughton born in Barbourville on May 18, 1942.  

He was a carpenter by trade.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Broughton. 

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Roark Broughton of Pine Ridge; four sons, Danny Broughton Sr. and wife, Lisa, of Clay City, Jimmy Broughton and wife, Melissa, of Olive Hill,  Douglas Broughton and wife, Ilene, of Peebles, Ohio and Michael Powell and wife, Michelle, of Barbourville; two daughters, Mickey Ann Warren and husband, Ralph, and Donnita Riley and husband, Harold, all of Barbourville; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lonnie Broughton, Donnie Broughton and Raymond Broughton all of Barbourville, and one sister, Beverley McAdams of Barbourville. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

 Casket bearers will be Danny Broughton Sr., Jimmy Broughton, Doug Broughton, Danny Broughton Jr., Kenny Broughton, Charles Broughton and Derick Rogers. 

His funeral service will be conducted at the Porter & Son Funeral Directors Thursday, July 18 at 1 P.M.  He will be laid to rest in the Ledford Cemetery at Pine Ridge. 

Friends may call at the Porter & Son Funeral Directors Thursday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
