On December 2, 1949, she united in marriage with Charles David “Doonie” Black, who predeceased her, and together they raised three children, Susan K. Black of Maryville, TN, Charles D. “Brud” Black, Jr. and wife, Diane, of Mt. Vernon and Dr. W. Scott Black and wife, Lisa, of Owensboro. Per her request, family and close friends will gather at the Barbourville Cemetery on Saturday, April 30 at 11 A.M. for a graveside service, with Rev. Greg McClellan officiating and grandchildren serving as casket bearers.

Friends may call at the cemetery Saturday prior to the service time.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the First Christian Church of Barbourville or the Knox Historical Museum.
