Mrs. Katherine Marie Bays, 71, of Bimble, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2022 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Roy Henson Jr. and Ruby McCreary Henson born on December 13, 1950 in Barbourville.

Katherine was a homemaker and a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

On September 30, 1969, she united in marriage with Fred Bays Jr. and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and her parents-in-law, Fred and Edith Bays.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Delone Trent and husband, Michael, of Bimble; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Bargo and husband, Jimmy, of Heidrick; a brother, James Edward Henson and wife, Judy, of Clarksville, TN; treasured grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Clouse and husband, Ryan, Robbie Hill and Whitney, Seth Hill and wife, Taylor, and Reese Hill; a step granddaughter, Brittany Trent; great grandchildren, Charles Robert Hill, Brayden Scott Clouse, Emma Katherine Clouse and Rylee Claire Hill; a very special friend and caregiver, Sue Carpenter; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, July 17 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jeff Frost and Tim Bargo officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Stewart-Partin-Abner Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Seth Hill, Robbie Hill, Ryan Clouse, Nick Broughton, Joey Bargo, Brandon Bargo, Bob Blevins and Tyler Martin.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
