Ms. Barbara Ann Bays, 64, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 31, 2021 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.  She was the daughter of Hester Rose McNamara and the late James McNamara born on July 20, 1957 in Barbourville.

Barbara was a former LPN with the Knox County Hospital and a member of the River Baptist Church.  She enjoyed watching murder mysteries, being at home and dearly loved spending time with her great grandchildren.

On June 14, 1971, she united in marriage with David Bays and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Medlin and Carolyn Warren.

Survivors include her loving mother, Hester McNamara of Barbourville; beloved daughter, Angela Taylor and husband, Greg, of Barbourville; three sisters, Teresa Hayes and husband, Clifton, of Rockholds, Linda McNamara and Joyce McNamara both of Barbourville; a brother, Terry McNamara of Barbourville; two precious grandchildren, Bree Taylor and Lonnie Teague and Jathan Taylor and fiancé, Camille; two treasured great grandchildren, Grayson and McKinlea Teague; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, September 7 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Adams Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Greg Taylor, Jathan Taylor, Lonnie Teague, Kenny McKee, Dustin Woolum and Shawn Hayes.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
