Mrs. Wanda Lee Bargo, 91, of Gray, passed away Thursday evening, August 29, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Perry and Ona Lee Wells Jones born on April 19, 1933 at Gray.
Wanda was a homemaker and worshipped in both Baptist and Pentecostal churches. She enjoyed reading, gardening, walking and serving and singing in the ministry with her husband. Wanda especially enjoyed time with her family.
On April 12, 1955, she united in marriage with Rev. Tilmon Bargo and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tilmon; a son, David Bargo Sr. and siblings, Thelma Prader, Perry Jones Jr., Allene Foley, Judy Schelenz, Bernice Riley, Lonis Jones, Haskel Jones and Gerald Jones.
Survivors include her loving children, Phyllis Fox and husband, Steve, and Janet Ellison and husband, Les, all of Gray; a sister, Corene Elliott of Corbin; a sister-in-law, Tina Jones of Gray; grandchildren, Jeff Slusher, Jonathan Hyslope, Jessi Ciak, Jeremiah Slusher, David Bargo Jr. and Lori England; 10 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the New Vision Pentecostal Church, 100 Ascot Road, Gray, KY, Wednesday, September 4 at 1 P.M. with Jeff Slusher, Jeremiah Slusher and Phyllis Fox officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Anderson Campbell Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Steve Fox, Jeff Slusher Sr., Jeremiah Slusher, Jeff Slusher Jr., Caleb Slusher and Jerry Bargo.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and at the church Wednesday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Following the services, New Vision Pentecostal Church will host a meal for those in attendance.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
