Mr. Ed Bargo, 66, of Callebs Creek, passed away Saturday evening, December 3, 2022 at Baptist Health Corbin. He was the son of the late J.D. and Lillie Bargo born on October 31, 1956 in Pineville.

Ed was a former coal miner, factory working and member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church.  He was a skilled painter and enjoyed tinkering with guns. In his younger days, he also loved taking trips on his motorcycle. As the grill master of the family, he loved to cook out and didn’t shy away from enjoying the meal he had prepared. His favorite moments in life were spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

On March 24, 1973, he united in marriage with Brenda Hubbard in Knox County and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Jordan and a nephew, Jamie Montgomery.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 49 years, Brenda Bargo; his beloved daughter, Selena Riley and husband, Farrel, of Hinkle; sisters, Darlene Montgomery and husband, Joe, and Florine Jordan, both of Hinkle and Carlene Abner of Woollum; a brother, Charlie Bargo of Hinkle; cherished grandchildren, Tabitha Bargo and husband, Justin, and Kaitlyn Walker and husband, Zeke; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Callebs Creek Cemetery Wednesday, December 7 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating. Friends will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 2 P.M. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Walter Hubbard, Jacob Abner, John Bargo, Josh Jordan, Justin Jordan, Bull Jordan, Ronnie Hubbard, Phillip Mills, Christian Mills and Michael Kush.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Wednesday after 12 noon.

The family would like to thank Baptist Health Corbin Progressive Care staff for the excellent care they provided for Ed.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
