BAKER, Ronnie R. (1950 – 2019)

Mr. Ronnie R. Baker, 68, of Flat Lick, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at his home.  He was the son of the late Paul D. Garland and Imogene Garland Sizemore born on September 24, 1950 in Bell County.

Ronnie was the former owner of Baker Roofing Company, of the Pentecostal faith, enjoyed music and was a trader.  He obtained his PhD in Psychology from Morehead State University.  Ronnie faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah McVey and Paula Mills.

Survivors include his sister, Marilyn Mills of Barbourville; nieces, Danielle Walters and husband, Bill, and Rebecca Gray and husband, Jeremy; nephews, Ron McKinley Garland and wife, April, Bo McVey and John Bargo and wife, Sabrina; several great nieces and great nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, September 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Henson and Rev. Fred Disney Jr. officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Sandy Branch Cemetery with military funeral honors.

Casket bearers will be Ron McKinley Garland, Bill Walters, Jeremy Gray, John Bargo, Jordan Mamrak, William Walters, Bo McVey, James Walters, Christopher Walters, Aiden Gray and Gabriel Gray.  Serving as honorary bearers will be the staff of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
