Mrs. Carolyn Jean Asher, the daughter of the late Ples and Mollie Mills was born in Knox County on February 29, 1948. She was united in marriage to Johnny Roy Asher of Gray.

She is also survived by her children, Kim Chesnut and husband, Patrick and Elisha Fisher and husband, Greg all of Gray and Brandi Cox and husband, Matthew of Barbourville. She was the sister of Allen Mills and Linda Harris Smith both of Barbourville. She was the grandmother of Trey Asher Chesnut and Brody Charles Fisher both of Gray and Tatum Randall Cox and Tinley Reese Cox both of Barbourville. She was the mother-in-law of Sherri Asher Chadwell of Barbourville. She was also blessed with several other nieces & nephews, other family, her church family and many friends to mourn her passing.

She was a faithful Christian and attended the Beacon Baptist Church in Barbourville. She was a family coordinator for the K.C.E.O.C. in Barbourville and an insurance agent for many years.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Randall Dewayne Asher and two brothers, Donnie Mills and Charles Mills.

Mrs. Carolyn Jean Mills Asher departed this life on Wednesday evening at the Barbourville A.R.H Hospital in Barbourville leaving her at the attained age of 72 years and 4 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Jean Asher will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the Beacon Baptist Church in Barbourville with Rev. Dennis Chesnut, Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Rev. Pat Chesnut officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery in Barbourville.

The family of Mrs. Carolyn Jean Asher will receive friends at Beacon Baptist Church on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be Pat Chesnut, Greg Fisher, Matthew Cox, Tommy Smith, Joshua Mills, Samuel Lawson and Wendell Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Chesnut, Brody Fisher, Tatum Cox, Tinley Cox, Barbourville A.R.H. Hospital Staff, Dr. West, Mary Beth Wynn and Linda Napier, R.N.
