Ms. Phyllis Amis, 73, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2026 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Sowders Amis born October 26, 1952 at Flat Lick.

Phyllis was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Thomas E. Amis.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Davis of Corbin; nephews, James and Steven Amis; special friend, Lonnie Payne; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at the Amis Cemetery Wednesday, August 5 at 12 Noon with Rev. Larry Sowders officiating.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit at the cemetery prior to the service time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
