Mrs. Debra Jean Adkins, 69, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. John and Alma Merida Partin born on July 23, 1952 in Knox County.

Debra was a medical assistant with Dr. Hasni and Dr. Lohe’s office and was a member of the East Jellico Baptist Church.  She was a Civil War Reenactor with the 5th Kentucky Infantry for many years and a founding member of the Battle of Barbourville.  She had many hobbies including traveling, shopping, reading and camping.  Her greatest joy was spending time with family.

On June 27, 1970, she united in marriage with James Armond Miles and to this union two children were born.  Later on October 24, 1987, she united in marriage with Eulis Ray Adkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eulis; grandparents, Lee and Violet Partin and Arthur and Gracie Merida; a brother, Douglas Keith Partin and a niece, Whitney Beth Ledford.

Survivors include her loving children, Wendy Bunch and husband, Jimmy, and Kevin Miles all of Artemus; sisters, Cathy Landrum, Judy Bowling and husband, Ronnie, and Zella Ledford all of Artemus and Pam Clines and husband, Danny, of Bradenton, FL; three brothers, Rev. Mark Partin and wife, Pam, of Artemus, Rev. Rick Partin of Barbourville and Johnny Partin and wife, Michelle, of Heidrick; treasured grandchildren, Morgan Rae Bunch, Tanner Lee Bunch, Cassondra Lynne Miles, Aliyah Ruth and James Malachi Miles; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted at the Artemus First Baptist Church Sunday, June 12 at 4 P.M. with Rev. Rick Partin and Rev. Mark Partin officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Stewart-Abner-Partin Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Tanner Bunch, Tony Landrum, Keith Partin, Alvin Brown, Brian Brown, Nathan Warfield, Chris Bowling, Randy Partin, Jeremiah Partin, Chris Partin, Josh Partin, Daniel Clines and Joel Partin.  Honorary bearers will be Johnny Partin, Ronnie Bowling, Danny Clines, members of the East Jellico Baptist Church and the staff of Dr. Lohe and Dr. Hasni’s office.

Friends may call at the church Saturday between 4 and 9 P.M. and Sunday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
