Mrs. Wilma Jean Adams, 82, of Bimble, passed away Friday morning, February 11, 2022 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Henry Matt Callihan Sr. and Chelsa Yeager Callihan born on May 4, 1939 in Harlan County.

Wilma was a former elementary teacher and librarian who taught at Ely Hollow, Boone, Woodbine, Boston and Oak Grove and a member of the Beacon Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, shopping and walking.  After her retirement, she enjoyed watching game shows, especially Drew on the Price Is Right.

On July 7, 1960, she united in marriage with Kenneth E. Adams Sr. and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; brothers, H. M. Callihan II and Ronnie Callihan; parents-in-law, Ernest and Patty Adams and brothers-in-law, Foley Adams and wife, Rose, Denny Miller, Gene Bannister and Norm Dittrich.

Survivors include her beloved children, Kenneth E. “Kenny” Adams Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Mark Adams and wife, Gynger, all of Bimble; a sister, Genetta Callihan Pugh and husband, Bill, of Knoxville, TN; dearly loved grandchildren, Kendra Englehart and husband, Nick, Tyler Adams and wife, Brittany, Josh Adams and wife, Sierra, Justin Adams and fiancé, Hannah Lockard, Chelsea Adams and Will Adams; great grandchildren, Ellie Kae Englehart, Emma Claire Adams and Hagen David Adams; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Beth Callihan, Gwen Bannister, Hobart and Faye Adams, David Adams and Karen Miller; many beloved nieces and nephews; an honorary grandson, Zach Callihan; best friend, Clara Johnson; special caregivers, Karen Emrick and Jane Ledford; among other loved ones and dear friends to cherish her memory.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Callihan Cemetery Wednesday, February 16 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Rev. Pat Chesnut officiating.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons.  Honorary bearers will be Dr. Abigail Byrnes and the staff of both Baptist Health Corbin Oncology Center and Bluegrass Care Navigators.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and at the cemetery Wednesday prior to the service time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
