ADAMS, Mary Rose (1943 – 2019)
Mrs. Mary Rose Adams, 76, of Bimble, passed away Sunday evening, September 8, 2019 at the home of her daughter. She was the daughter of the late Grover and Bessie Strothers Adams born on August 31, 1943 in Connellsville, PA.
Rose was a homemaker and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and tending flowers.
On June 25, 1962, she united in marriage with James Foley Adams and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foley; two sisters, Betty Louise Adams and Joann Tringes; four brothers, Kenneth, Jim, Sonny and Bob Adams; a son-in-law, Rick Gambrel; her in-laws, Ernest and Patty Adams; brothers-in-law, Denny Miller, Kenneth Adams and Gene Bannister.
Survivors include two children, James F. Adams Jr. and wife, Renee, of Gray and Christine Hammons and husband, Otis, of Hinkle; two sisters, Dee Queesenberry and husband, Bill, of Fayetteville, NC and Janet Adams of Connellsville, PA; a brother, Jack Adams and wife, Linda, of Connellsville, PA; eight grandchildren, Tiffany McLain, Christopher Adams, April Gambrel, Jeffrey Adams and wife, Kelsey, C. J. Gambrel, Janae Adams, Candace Willis and husband, Michael, and Kyle Hammons; great grandchildren, Alston, Carter, Reese, Cadience, Emersyn and Rhyan; sisters-in-law, Gwen Bannister of Trinidad, CO, Karen Miller and Wilma Adams both of Bimble; brothers-in-law, Hobart Adams and wife, Faye, of Barbourville and David S. Adams of Harlan; a special family pet, Dash; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, September 12 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Josh Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Christopher Adams, Jeffrey Adams, C. J. Gambrel, Kyle Hammons, Denny Ray Miller, Michael Miller and David Wayne Adams.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mary Lou Sims, Faye Adams, Rodney Smith, Knox County Home Health and Bluegrass Hospice Care for the excellent care given to Rose.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
