Mr. James Timothy “Tim” Adams, 66, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late James Dooley and Opal Davenport Adams born January 15, 1959 in Knox County.

Tim was a former gas station clerk and of the Pentecostal faith. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats and Minnesota Vikings fan. He also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and any Clint Eastwood film.

On September 10, 2000 he united in marriage with Marie Mills at the Coalport Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman and Lonnie Miller and brothers-in-law, Jerry and Delbert Mills.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marie Adams of Barbourville; children, Chris Adams and wife, Joanie, of Richmond, Ashley Deaton and husband, James, of Girdler, Heidi Baker of Himyar, Virgil Baker and wife, Ticie, of Boone Height and Albert Baker and wife, Jamie, of Boone Height; sisters, Connie Smith, Shirley Brown, Donna Adams and Kim Adams; brother, Gary Adams; cherished grandchildren, Kensley, Hadley, Kaydence, Presley, Waylon, Devonte, Braxton, Brevin, Ethan and Peyton; among other relatives and dear friends.

Due to current weather conditions, his funeral service will now be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, February 17 at 2 P.M. He will be laid to rest in the Carnes Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
