Mr. Dennis Ray Mills, 68, of Artemus, passed away Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026 at the Beech Tree Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Jellico, TN.  He was born July 2, 1958 in Pineville, the son of the late Columbus Mills Jr. and Patricia Ann Walters Mills.

Dennis was a farmer and a member of the Artemus Christian Church.  In earlier years, he loved riding his horse “Fonzie”, watching westerns and sitting on the porch.  Dennis also enjoyed singing at church and liked all genres of music.  He was an avid UK Wildcats fan and loved to joke with the nursing home staff, who were Tennessee fans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Steven and Brian Scott Mills.

Survivors include his siblings, Sandra Elswick and David Mills both of Artemus; an aunt, Billie Ferguson of Barbourville; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, November 11 at 2 P.M.   He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may go to the Beech Tree Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center, 240 Hospital Lane, Jellico, TN 37762 in his memory.
