Mr. Wendell Lewis Hammons, 80, of Barbourville, passed away Thursday morning, September 24, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  He was the son of the late Leamon Lee and Dicie Baker Hammons.

His funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Barbourville Thursday, October 1 at 2 P.M.  He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Family Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the church Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
