Mr. Michael Shan Miller, 56, of Bimble, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born May 15, 1970 in Columbus, OH, the son of Karen Adams Miller and the late Denny Miller.
Michael left behind a life that was anything but ordinary. He enjoyed spending all his time with his family and friends and loved making everyone laugh. Michael was a “Miller” through and through, learning the value of hard work from his dad, Denny, and working alongside him throughout his younger years at several companies including Miller Brothers and Farmers Supply. His dad was his hero, and he also learned the importance of living life to its fullest from him.
During his time as a student at Knox Central High School, he enjoyed playing football and singing in the choir. He made life-long friends during this period of his life. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers, golfing, watching NASCAR and boxing, spending time with his family in the pool and most of all his love for music and performing. He spent many years being the lead singer of “The Wild River Band” and during this time he touched many people with his talent and love for sharing music. Apart from performing, he loved listening to music and trying his hand at songwriting. Some of his favorite bands and singers were Bad Company, E.L.O., the Eagles, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special and Hall and Oates. Michael’s absence will be felt among his friends and family who cherished having him in their lives. They will always remember him for his kind heart, his love of life and his one-of-a-kind smile.
In the last years of his life, he found a supportive companion who provided comfort and care during his time of need. Leann Gibson, Michael’s fiancé, loved him with all of her heart.
In 1992, he united in marriage with Jennifer Fee and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and June Miller and Ernest and Patty Adams.
Survivors include his loving mother, Karen Miller of Bimble; beloved children, Michaela Hammons and husband, Kyle, of Hinkle and Matthew Miller of Barbourville; a brother, Denny Ray Miller and wife, Andrea, of Bimble; a cherished granddaughter, Harlyn Hammons; niece and nephews, Brenna Lawson and husband, Josh, Chase Miller and wife, Bree, and Shea Miller and wife, Jess; great nieces and great nephew, Kaiden Yeager, Ada, Asa and Mattie Shea Miller; among other loved ones and dear friends.
