Mr. Dennis C. Sundberg, 79, of Lexington, passed away Thursday evening, April 23, 2026 at Baptist Health Lexington.  He was born January 2, 1947 in Rockville Centre, NY, the son of the late Bengt Per and Marie Rosarie Whelan Sundberg.

Dennis was a top executive with IBM in the Federal Systems Division and of the Baptist faith.  He was an avid golfer who had the opportunity to play on the PRO tour and then became a Golf Pro Instructor at Fred Hill Golf Academy.  He faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Colombo.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lesa A. Taylor-Sundberg of Lexington; children, Sean Sundberg of California and Kimberly Sundberg Kraft of Minnesota; a sister, Kathleen Mary Sundberg Longrigg of Texas; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A private family graveside service will be conducted in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Independence Village, 905 Highway 3 North, Texas City, TX 77591.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
