Ms. Tammy Elaine Coward, 61, of Bryants Store, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  She was born January 11, 1965 in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Axie Broughton Jordan and the late Victor Jordan.

Tammy was a homemaker and a member of the Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking and was known for her dumplings and banana split cake. Tammy also loved gardening, tending flowers, keeping a beautiful yard and crocheting.  She treasured time with her family.

On December 3, 1983, she united in marriage with Donald Cole and to this union two children were born.  She later united in marriage with Johnny Coward.

Survivors include her loving mother, Axie Jordan of Barbourville; children, Sean Cole and wife, Diane, and Jessica Cole all of Barbourville; brothers, Keith Jordan and wife, Leva Patricia, of Girdler, Timmy Jordan and Esther of Dewitt and Danny Jordan and Misty of Barbourville; cherished grandchildren, Vivian and Annaliese Cole; special aunts and uncles, Rev. Bill Gray, Edd Jordan and wife, Edith, Herman Jordan, Marlon Jordan, Ida Stroop, Maudie Strunk and Bonnie Jordan; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, February 7 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Mike Helton and Rev. Ricky Broughton officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Jordan Family Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Preston Lee Mills, Eric Broughton, Jamie Gray, Scott Broughton, Kevin Broughton, Patrick Broughton and Darren Broughton.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
