Mr. Elmer Powers, 82, of Baughman, passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 2026 at his home.  He was born October 7, 1943 at Bryants Store, the son of the late George and Cyntha Perkins Powers.

Elmer was a former insurance adjuster with State Farm Insurance and believed in the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed tinkering, watching sports and was an avid University of Kentucky football and basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan.

On April 23, 1964, he united in marriage with Mary Johnson in Jellico, TN and to this union a son was born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Floraestil Alcorn, Bertha Fox, Ethel Ledger, June Miller, Stanley Powers, Reed Powers and Glenn Powers.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 61 years, Mary Johnson Powers of Baughman; a son, Todd Powers and wife, Debora, of Baughman; a sister, Cleda Lane of Michigan; a brother, Ray Powers of Michigan; cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Merel Powers and Aaron Mitchell Powers; among other loved ones and dear friends.

At this time, no services are planned.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
