Ms. Olivia Kalynn Bargo, 14, of Heidrick, passed away Sunday morning, June 1, 2025 at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was the daughter of Paul and Leslie Church Bargo born March 3, 2011 in Corbin.

Olivia was a beloved student at the Knox County Middle School who aspired to be a welder and a part-time registered nurse. She was a member of the Everlasting Grace Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed riding her gold cart and playing with her dogs, Willow, Wilber and Nala. She could often be found making crafts, watching Bluey or spending time with her best friend Temperance, cousin, Emma and brother, Zackary. To know Olivia was to love her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Paul Darrel Bargo and maternal grandmother, Bobbie Jean Jackson.

Survivors include her loving parents, Paul Steven and Leslie Bargo; brother, Zackary Bargo; grandparents, Brenda Bargo and Jerry and Joyce Church; great aunt, Sharon “BB” Rogers; aunts, Shanna Champlin, Stephanie Hobbs and husband Jerry, Lisa Roark and husband, Terry and Marilyn Mills; uncle, Greg Hoskins and wife, Gail; best friend, Temperance Buchanan; very special friends, Dewayne Austin, Wayne Abner, Brent Ledford, P.J. Jarvis and Carter Hughes; many special cousins, friends, classmates and teachers.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 7 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Timothy Puckett and Rev. Rick Thomas officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chris “Tiny” Grubb, Brandon Thomas, Donnie Ashwell, Evan Hobbs, Adam Townsley, Brent Ledford and Jesse Garland. Honorary bearers will be Virgil “Boo” Jones and Billy Messer.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses who loved Olivia as their own: UK Children’s Hospital staff, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital staff, Barbourville ARH staff and Dr. Cody Reynolds, Knox County EMS and her family at Grace Health.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
