
Mrs. Geneva Collett, 78, of Bailey Branch, the widow of Leamon Collett, passed away Monday morning, August 4, 2025 at her home. She was born December 4, 1946 in Clay County, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Pearl Collett Smith.
Geneva was a homemaker and a believer of the Christian faith. She found joy in gardening, growing moss roses, tending flowers, canning and cooking for family and friends. Geneva also enjoyed traveling to Gatlinburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Grant Dale Collett; an infant daughter; a sister, Wanda Smith; brothers, Larry, Noah and Woodrow Smith and a granddaughter, Courtney Collett.
Survivors include her loving children, Mallie Lynn Collett and husband, Doyle Grubb of Bailey Branch; Eugene Collett and wife, Leslie, Bessie Jean Jones and husband, Lowel, all of Alex Creek, Malvie Baker and husband, Arthur Leonard, of Moore Creek and Roy Lee Collett and wife, Kim, of Alex Creek; a sister, Roberta Smith and husband, Stanley, of Clay County; a brother, Robert Smith of Clay County; grandchildren, Victor Isiac Mills, Grant Thomas Jones, Lester Jr. Hensley and wife, Christina, Steven Dewayne Hensley, Lucas Leamon Hensley and wife, Gabrielle, Daniel Ray Hensley, Austin Lee Collett, Timothy Collett, Joshua Jarvis and Sierra Collett and husband, Josh; great grandchildren, Aiden and Abel Jones, Kylie, Kaylee, Karter, Alexander, Selena, Zachary Hensley and Noah Collett; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the Salem Baptist Church Saturday, August 9 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Herman Mills officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Collett Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Grant Jones, Lester Jr. Hensley, Steven Hensley, Daniel Hensley, Timothy Collett, Austin Collett and Lucas Hensley.
Friends may visit at the church Thursday after 7 P.M. until the funeral hour Saturday.
Donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
